Mer de Glace

Well, well, well…
This is what I can tell you :

Mont Blanc is MAGNIFICENT.

Monsieur and I had an extraordinary experience to see the famous Mont Blanc in Chamonix for the first time. We’d never thought that it would be soooo great.

We had to go to L’AIGUILLE DU MIDI by cable car to reach out [almost] the top. When we’re finally able to get close to 3842 m altitude of mountain, it’s very stunning!. We [or actually it was me!] were like “Oh my God…oh my God…how beautiful it is…!. We felt like the nature’s big and we’re so small.

We also took a red train from Chemin de Fer du Montenvers to go to MER DE GLACE [frozen sea]. Besides a beautiful frozen sea view, there’s a sort of glacier cave exposition underneath this frozen sea. We took a look, and got a little bit disappointed. So if you don’t want to see it, you won’t miss anything. I don’t recommend to go down there [the cave] if you have baby or toddler because it might be difficult to them to climb the stairs [approximately 400 stairs!] unless if you want to carry them.

• You need an access card to enter the tourisme spot in Chamonix. There’re various kinds of access card [with various ranges of price too!.], better do a research first from chamonix tourisme website before you buy it. We bought Mont Blanc unlimited pass [63,50€/person] to get all access in Chamonix tourist spots for one day. You can buy it online maximum two days before the day, or you can find an automatic counter in front of cable car center.

• Aiguille du Midi is not allowed for less than 5 years old children.

• We prefer to go in winter time to see all the areas of Mont Blanc covered by snow. But if you want to go in summer time it will be nice too, although you won’t get snow as much as in winter [less attractive for us].

• Check the weather!. It’s important because if the weather is not a good one, you will not get a good visibility of Mont Blanc [especially in raining and cloudy day]. Sunshine is always the best thing!.

These are photos from last weekend.

We spent our time at Roscoff, Pleyben, and St. Pol De Leon – Finistère, Bretagne. Some people said living in Bretagne is not very interesting, why?. It’s because of the weather. They said the sun shines not more than 3 months in a year. Mostly will be cloudy and rainy days. So it’s a sadness.

O’well, may be this region doesn’t have a friendly weather as they said. But this region has so many beautiful places to be visited!. Beautiful typical breton’s home architectures, churches, castles, and crêperies are everywhere!. You must try their speciality crepes, it’s so delicious and different. They also have their own famous local soft drink, it’s called Breizh Cola and we love it!.

So if you want to visit Bretagne, please don’t be bothered with the weather. Because you will always find a lot of beauties in there. Just enjoy it!.

Annecy, one of the most beautiful city in Haute Savoie area. It’s been known by its old town and lake. And yes, I love this city so so much. We arrived there around 8 am [it’s very very early]. The restaurants and shops were not open yet, and of course not so many tourists too!. Tant mieux!.

We strolled along the old town until the lake of Annecy. I enjoyed every single time that we spent. Too much huh?.

At the end of our visit, we wanted to rent a boat to explore the lake, but unfortunately they were not available yet – we came too earlyyyy remember??. Not sure at what time they’re available though. Nevermind, because we’ll be back!. Yihaaa!.

I always love when we’re accidentally lost and ended up with finding an interesting new place to be visited.

This is Lake Doul in Peyriac de Mer – Aude. I love the wood bridges that will take you from the lake to the hills. They’re very photogenic teehee. But unfortunately we’re not able to go until the top of the hill because petit monsieur dislike the insects around it. So we turned back. But I saw a group of tourist who would do a trekking. I guess the distance to reach the top of the hill is quite long. Don’t worry the hill’s road is not a difficult one, even petit monsieur could walk easily – but keep prudent always.

Yesterday we went to Nordique area of Capcirto do our very first time skiing [well, not for Monsieur actually]. It took one hour and forty five minutes by car from our city to the ski station.

There’re a lot of ski areas in Capcir. We chose to go to Domaine de La Llosse – ClaveraBased on what we read, this is the best place for skiing in family, not a big one – so it’s a good place to learn for the first timer like me.

We rented ski equipments 14 € each for Monsieur and I. We also paid 10,50 € each for the ski resort – all day long entry pass [they open from 9am – 5pm].

Ski was fun. I did it for three hours. I fell a lot. I laughed but actually I was scared. I was so slow – always meters away behind Monsieur who took petit monsieur with him. He kept saying : “C’mon don’t be scared it’s just the snow. You won’t be hurt if you fall. Don’t be stress. It’s not fun if you don’t fall at the first time. C’mon!”.

I pushed my sticks, I got faster, but I didn’t know how to stop it. Monsieur was far away from me, he couldn’t hear me when I asked him how to slow it down. So I dropped myself down, and taadaaa booommm I had the snow all over my face haha. One couple laughed at me when they saw me fell down like that. I laughed back at them and I didn’t feel ashamed at all.

We really had a great day but still it’s not enough haha.

Collioure is one of the most visited place in Pyrénées Oriental departement. It’s a very interesting place, a castle and an old church surrounded by the ocean.

It’s a very nice place to go with your family or just you alone. Attention in summer day, you may get trouble with the parking, because it’s always full with the visitors.

This morning at my breakfast time, I checked my Instagram and I got a notification from R Hotel Rancamaya’s account. A good one, and you know whatttt??, I won a photo contest!. Ahaha.

I am so H A P P Y!.

Actually I did it just for fun, I never thought that I’d win it. Thank you R Hotel at Rancamaya – Bogor.

We were there in July. It’s our first time to spend our holiday there, and since then Monsieur always asked me to come back to this hotel. Yes it’s been his favorite hotel in Indonesia so far.

We chose this hotel because it’s so close to the nature, a spacious room with beautiful view, and [my favorite] super classy bathroom.

For us, the most important thing when we’re choosing the hotel is the facility that they have for the kids. Because it’s important to petit monsieur to play and have fun too!.

Fortunately, besides the swimming pool for the kids, this hotel has a kids club which is very-very interesting place. When we were there petit monsieur didn’t want to go back to our room and wanted to stay there all day long!. The kids club at R hotel has a lot of toys to play with, cinema room, and kids’ activities. The tutors are very kind and friendly to the kids. You can also leave your kids and let the tutors take care of them. Believe me it’s very helpful when you want to have your [short] time alone without the kids during your holiday. And so far I haven’t found the other hotels with who have kind of facility. We did it. We left petit monsieur at the kids club with the tutors and the other kids, and did our fitness at the hotel’s gym.

Overall, this hotel is a great escape place for your family. They have a great service and delicious meals at the Pavilion restaurant [their three pannacotta dessert is a delish!]. Their room service is quite fast.

The only problem is when you don’t have a car it’s very difficult to get there. Because the taxi from Jakarta can’t enter this city – Bogor. I don’t know why, I still can’t understand until today. So, I suggest it’s better to rent a car or ask someone to drive you there.
